Abstract
Using standard diagnostic techniques and a tissue culture medium previ ously described (Kleinschuster and Swink 1993), detection and select i n vitro culture of species of Perkinsus isolated from Maine oysters we re demonstrated. This is the first report of Perkinsus in oysters from Maine and the species is likely P. marinus.
