Abstract
Both a microscopic and a phenomenological theory of 2D Frenkel exciton -polaritons are developed taking into account the mixing of molecular configurations. The spectrum and radiative width of the polaritons are calculated taking into account the resonance interactions with a subs trate of variable thickness. The results of the calculations for the r adiative width are compared with experimental data for 2D Frenkel exci tons, localized in the first and second outermost molecular monolayers of anthracene crystals.
