Theoretic relations were derived, which are necessary for the calculat
ion of the optimal course of transesterification of plant oils and ani
mal fats to form ecological products such as biodiesel fuel or lubrica
nts. Advantages of one- and two-step transesterification courses are d
iscussed. The relations derived were practically used for the model sy
stem rape oil-methanol-potassium hydroxide.
