Abstract
A Mossbauer effect study of the effect of chemical order on hyperfine magnetic field distributions in the quasi-binary alloy system Fe0.75-x MnxAl0.25 (based on substitution of Fe by Mn in Fe3Al) shows that a pr eferential substitution of Mn at one of the sites leads to a B2 Order in the ternary system. The kinetics of the ordering process in Fe0.45M n0.3Al0.25 shows distinctly different relaxation behaviours at the two possible inequivalent sites in the ordered structure.
