ALKALOIDS AND COUMARINS FROM ESENBECKIA SPECIES

Investigation of two species of Esenbeckia, E. ulmawillia and E. grand iflora, has led to the isolation and identification of kokusaginine, m aculine, maculosidine, flindersiamine, xanthotoxin, pimpinellin, 4-met hoxy-1-methylquinolin-2-o ne, two new 2-arylquinolin-4-one alkaloids a nd two 3-(1',1'-dimethylallyl)dihydrofurocoumarins derivatives. Struct ures of all compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.
