Abstract
Control of intracellular Ca2+ ([Ca2+](i)) is critical to vascular smoo th muscle function. Calcium channels are the major route by which Ca2 enters the smooth muscle cell. This article reviews the types of calc ium channel present in vascular smooth muscle cells and their physiolo gical and biochemical regulation.
