Abstract
A survey of twenty-three college and university coordinators who condu ct assessment activities and report findings in connection with Tennes see's fifteen-year-old performance funding initiative reveals strength s and weaknesses associated with ten indicators of institutional perfo rmance. Reasons for the longevity of this program, which was designed to serve both accountability and improvement purposes, are advanced.
