C. Granito et al., OPTICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF METALLOPHTHALOCYANINE DERIVATIVE LANGMUIR-BLODGETT-FILMS, Langmuir, 12(2), 1996, pp. 472-476
The formation of high-quality Langmuir-Blodgett films of copper and ni
ckel phthalocyanine derivatives substituted with short branched chains
is reported. Ellipsometric and polarized optical absorption measureme
nts suggest that the phthalocyanine molecules have a preferred orienta
tion, with their large faces perpendicular to the dipping direction an
d to the substrate plane. Electrochromic effects are also noted in the
se multilayer films.
