The formation of micelles and vesicles of hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon
surfactants mixtures has been studied by using the surface tension me
thod, TEM and DSC, It was shown that the fluorocarbon alcohol increase
d the surface activity and decreased the micelle counterion binding de
gree when mixed with cationic surfactants, Both the mixed anionic-cati
onic surfactant system and the mixed fluorocarbon alcohol-cationic sur
factant system could all form vesicle, but it was more difficult for t
he latter to do so, The fluorocarbon chain made the peak temperature o
f phase inversion higher and the range broader, The size of polar grou
p of surfactant affects the stability of vesicle to the certain conten
t.
