Abstract
Methyl methacrylate(MMA) was random copolymerized with biphenyl methac rylate via group transfer polymerization. The copolymer composition wa s measured by H-1 NMR, the thermal behaviour of these copolymer was de termined by DSC, The reactivity ratios were r(1) = 0.56 +/- 0.03, 0.52 +/- 0.03, 0.46 +/- 0.03 and r(2) = 0.79 +/- 0.03, 0.81 +/- 0.03, 0.85 +/- 0.03 in benzene, tetrahydrofuran and.-acetonitrile respectively a t 30 degrees C. Copolymers with narrow molecular weight distribution a nd predetermined molecular weight were obtained.
