K. Sharma et al., SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF PLATINUM USING POTASSIUM-IODIDE AND DIANTIPYRYLMETHANE, Annali di chimica, 85(9-10), 1995, pp. 577-581
A simple, rapid, highly selective and sensitive photometric method for
the determination of platinum has been worked out employing potassium
iodide and diantipyrylmethane (DAPM). The ternary complex formed is e
xtractable into chloroform whose absorbance is measured at 365 nm. It
obeys Beer's law in the range 0.0-1.0 mu g Pt/ml with a Sandell's sens
itivity of 0.009 mu g Pt cm(-2).
