A. Aboulseoud et al., A SOLVENT-EXTRACTION STUDY OF THE THERMODYNAMICS OF P-IODOANILINE ANDOF THE PROTON IONIZATION OF THE P-IODOANILINIUM ION, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 40(6), 1995, pp. 523-528
The distribution coefficients of p-iodoaniline between a petroleum eth
er fraction and aqueous sodium chloride solutions were determined at d
ifferent temperatures. The activity coefficients of the amine in aqueo
us sodium chloride solutions, and the salting coefficients were determ
ined at different temperatures. The results agree with the Debye theor
y of salt effects. The effect of sodium chloride on the proton ionizat
ion of the p-iodoanilinium ion was studied at different temperatures,
by a modified distribution method. Attention was directed to the choic
e of the extracting solvent, the purity of the amine, and the analytic
al method. K-m, K-n, (K-b)(m), (K-b,)(o), Delta G degrees, Delta H deg
rees and Delta S degrees mere evaluated for the proton ionization of t
he p-iodoanilinium ion.
