New effective models for the calculation of the discharge scenario are
proposed, and numerical algorithms for their realization are develope
d. It is shown that for the standard regimes of the operation of a dev
ice, when the currents and voltages are under the limiting conditions,
these models make it possible to calculate the new discharge scenario
during the short time interval between shots. The proposed models are
compared with those now in use, and the limits of their applicability
are found. Close agreement is shown between the calculation results a
nd experiments in the TEXTOR device.
