Abstract
The effect of ion-molecule processes on the charged particle transport in a weakly ionized gas in a nonuniform and time-dependent electric f ield is studied theoretically. It is shown that these reactions may su bstantially accelerate the transport of charged particles along the fi eld. The expressions for the effective transport coefficients describi ng this effect are obtained. These coefficients are calculated for spe cific gas systems (N-2(+) and N-4(+) ions in N-2, and electrons and O- ions in air).
