Abstract
The feasibility has been demonstrated of using two-phase aqueous syste ms based on water-soluble polymers, polyethylene glycol and dextran su lfate, in thin-layer and extraction chromatography for recovery and se paration of actinides. A convenient method has been proposed for conti nuous recovery of Np-239 from Am-243, Originating from differences in sorption of tri- and pentavalent actinides from sulfate solutions cont aining potassium phosphotungstate by silica gel impregnated with polye thylene glycol. New plates for thin-layer chromatography using water-s oluble polymers have been developed. These plates were used to study b ehavior of americium in various oxidation states in thin sorbent layer s.
