Np. Molochnikova et al., USE OF 2-PHASE AQUEOUS SYSTEMS BASED ON WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMERS IN THIN-LAYER AND EXTRACTION CHROMATOGRAPHY FOR RECOVERY AND SEPARATION OF ACTINIDES, Radiochemistry, 37(6), 1995, pp. 477-481
The feasibility has been demonstrated of using two-phase aqueous syste
ms based on water-soluble polymers, polyethylene glycol and dextran su
lfate, in thin-layer and extraction chromatography for recovery and se
paration of actinides. A convenient method has been proposed for conti
nuous recovery of Np-239 from Am-243, Originating from differences in
sorption of tri- and pentavalent actinides from sulfate solutions cont
aining potassium phosphotungstate by silica gel impregnated with polye
thylene glycol. New plates for thin-layer chromatography using water-s
oluble polymers have been developed. These plates were used to study b
ehavior of americium in various oxidation states in thin sorbent layer
s.
