The resistivity, magnetoresistance and Hall effect of the rare earth s
ilicides RSi2-x, with x from 0 to 0.4, have been measured on several p
olycrystalline samples, single crystals and epitaxial thin films. All
samples are metallic; the Hall effect measured for some phases shows t
hat we are dealing with nearly compensated metals. The magnetoresistan
ce displays peculiar features in antiferromagnetic phases, which are e
xplained by the increase of spin disorder scattering at the metamagnet
ic transition.
