Abstract
Two patients with new-onset seizure within hours of parturition subseq uently tested positive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The per ipartum period appears to predispose asymptomatic HIV-infected individ uals to seizure. Such patients, especially with suggestive risk factor s, should be screened for HIV-antibody.
