M. Msaad et al., PID ADAPTIVE-CONTROL A NONISOTHERMAL CONTINUOUS STIRRED-TANK REACTOR, Hungarian journal of industrial chemistry, 23(4), 1995, pp. 241-249
This paper presents a digital PID adaptive controller derived within t
he delta operator formulation. The main features of this controller ar
e suitable tracking capability, parameter adaptation alertness, numeri
cal robustness and convergence of the performances to those of the und
erlying analog PID controller. Realistic simulations involving a physi
cal model of an exothermic continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) are
presented to show the performances of the proposed PID adaptive contro
ller with respect to a tightly tuned standard PLD controller.
