Abstract
A method for heat integration of hot-cold batch reactor systems with s everal heating and/or cooling agents available at various prices and t emperatures is considered. A generalised heat exchange network structu re including a heat integration block and a block for external heating and cooling is presented. A heat exchange mathematical model is devel oped. The synthesis problem is formulated in terms of non linear progr amming. The cost of the heat exchange network is accounted for. The me thod proposed is illustrated by a numerical example.
