Abstract
The general performance characteristic of a finite-speed Carnot refrig erator is investigated. The relationship between the coefficient of pe rformance and the cooling load of the refrigerator is obtained for sev eral different heat transfer cases. The result provides a realistic de sign criterion for actual refrigerators.
