Abstract
A Syrian golden hamster suffered from general swelling of skeletal mus cles. At microscopical observation the muscle tissue exhibited degener ation and necrosis, as well as regenerative features. The inflammatory response was very slight. The histopathological lesions were diagnose d as polymyopathy.
