The possibility of 1-phenylethylamine synthesis by electrochemical red
uction of acetophenone oxime in a tripotassium ortho-phosphate solutio
n at lead and zinc cathodes is shown. The yield of l-phenylethylamine
by substance is 80% when the concentration of acetophenone oxime in th
e solution is 8 wt %, and the current density is no more than 0.12 A/c
m(2), and a temperature is 30 degrees C. The method of cathode activat
ion by introducing zinc complex compounds into catholyte is developed.
A variant of the permanent electrosynthesis of 1-phenylethylamine is
proposed.
