The cathodic, galvanostatic, diaphragm electrolysis of cyanamide in ab
solute CH3CN, with 0.1 N Bu(4)NClO(4) as a background electrolyte, in
the presence of alpha,beta(omega)-dibromoalkanes, was shown to result
in the formation of the cyanamide cyclic derivatives. The target proce
ss proceeds via a stage of cathodic generation of N-centered anions, w
hich then enter the nucleophilic substitution reactions.
