Abstract
The title systems lead to the haloferrate(III) salt of the large 3,5-b is(N,N-dimethyliminium)-1,2,4-trithiolane cation. Oxidation of the iro n(III) dithiocarbamates occurs stepwise through the formation of sever al intermediates, which are isolated and characterized. An alternative route to the oxidation of the thiuram sulfide is presented. All compo unds were characterized by analyses, IR and UV spectroscopy, as well a s magnetic measurements.
