Abstract
The composite-fermion theory is generalized to construct wave function s directly in higher Landau levels. However, for electrons on the surf ace of a sphere, these are shown to be identical to those obtained by promoting the lowest-landau-level composite-fermion wave function to t he higher Landau levels.
