Septic cavernous sinus thrombosis is a serious infective condition wit
h a high mortality and morbidity. We report the first case to our know
ledge of septic cavernous sinus thrombosis following manipulation of f
ractured nasal bone under general anaesthesia. The patient later devel
oped complications of pneumonia with pleural effusion, a vegetative le
sion of the mitral valve, and blindness.
