GROWTH OF SINGLE-CRYSTALS OF C-60 AND C-70

Large, high-quality C-60 crystals with fee structure were grown by mod ified vapor transport. This technique involving the use of a narrow op en tube and flowing helium as a carrier,gas enables growth of crystals up to 3.2 mm larger than those grown using a primary vapor trasport g rowth method. Single crystals of C-70 with pur hcp 1 phase were also o btained.
