Abstract
Problems of the stability and free vibrations of elastic rectangular p lates are considered in the development of an earlier investigation [1 ] (also, see [2]). It is shown that, in the limit, there is no transit ion of the two-dimensional solutions into one-dimensional ''beam'' sol utions and an estimate is given of the difference between the limiting characteristics and the corresponding quantities obtained assuming th at the deformation of the plates is cylindrical.
