The paper is concerned with an analysis of the dynamic properties of n
ovel comb-like liquid crystalline polycarbosilane, which are related t
o the reorientational processes responding to the applied ac electric
field. Electro-optical and switching effects of the polymer are estima
ted basing on the measurements of the transmitted light intensity as a
function of temperature and ac electric field. The threshold voltage,
rise and decay times are measured and discussed.
