S. Lecommandoux et al., EFFECT OF THE SPACER AND ALIPHATIC TAIL LENGTH ON THE CONFORMATION OFSIDE-ON FIXED LIQUID-CRYSTAL POLYACRYLATES - SANS EXPERIMENTS, Journal de physique. II, 6(2), 1996, pp. 225-234
The backbone conformation of two different ''side-on fixed'' liquid cr
ystalline polyacrylates is studied by Small Angle Neutron Scattering e
xperiments in the nematic phase. We observe the influence of a very la
rge spacer and a large aliphatic extremities length on the prolate ani
sotropy of the polymer backbone. In both situations we find a strong d
ecrease in the conformation anisotropy of the main chain.
