Is. Golovin, MECHANISM OF DAMPING CAPACITY OF HIGH-CHROMIUM STEELS AND ALPHA-FE AND ITS DEPENDENCE ON SOME EXTERNAL FACTORS, Metallurgical transactions. A, Physical metallurgy and materials science, 25(1), 1994, pp. 111-124
The influence of heat treatment on the elastic and nonelastic paramete
rs of internal friction of high-chromium ferritic alloys and alpha-Fe
has been examined. Mechanisms of the formation of magnetoelastic and d
islocation hysteresis have been investigated. Temperature ranges and t
emperature and amplitude critical points connected with different damp
ing mechanisms have been established. Heat treatment for maximum dampi
ng capacity has been suggested, and the results of damping capacity of
about 50 steels were generalized.
