GENERATOR SYNCHRONIZING INDUSTRY SURVEY RESULTS - IEEE POWER-SYSTEM RELAYING COMMITTEE REPORT

This report presents the results of an extensive survey of utility pra ctices for synchronizing a generator to the power system. The survey w as constructed to collect data defining the present utility practice o f synchronizing, the types of schemes used, why they were selected, an d how they have performed. The survey also collected data detailing th e number of machines equipped with a manual, semiautomatic, or automat ic synchronizing scheme. This data is categorized by generator prime m over type and load classification.
