Dj. Laurie et al., HMGLU(1D), A NOVEL SPLICE VARIANT OF THE HUMAN TYPE-I METABOTROPIC GLUTAMATE-RECEPTOR, European journal of pharmacology, 296(2), 1996, pp. 1-3
A novel splice variant, hmGlu(1d), of the human mGlu(1) metabotropic g
lutamate receptor has been isolated from a human brain library. This c
lone is identical to human mGlu(1a) except that it lacks 35 nucleotide
s in the 3' coding sequence, which predicts a truncated protein and a
novel carboxy terminus. After injection of the encoding sequence into
mouse A9 fibroblasts, quisqualate and (1S,3R)-1-aminocyclopentane-1,3-
dicarboxylic acid ((1S,3R)-ACPD) elicited concentration-dependent incr
eases in intracellular Ca2+ (pEC50 values of 6.09 and 4.33, respective
ly).
