Abstract
The structure of diiron trialuminium trisilicide is a compact three-di mensional arrangement of three symmetry-non-equivalent FeM(10) and one FeM(9) Fe-centred polyhedra (M = Al or Si) connected by face, edge an d corner sharing. The average distances are Fe-Si 2.381 and Fe-Al 2.58 5 Angstrom. Si has 9-11 neighbours and Al 11 or 12 neighbours at dista nces less than 3.1 Angstrom.
