Abstract
The crystal structure of [Li(C4H10O2)(3)](C28H22) has been determined at 100 K. The structure of the radical anion displays a slightly disto rted butadiene skeleton with reversed bond order compared to the neutr al 1,1,4,4-tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene molecule. The Li countercation is hexacoordinated by three dimethoxyethane molecules forming a solvent- separated ion pair.
