Abstract
Three units of the chiral title complex, -tert-butylpyridine-N)bis(dim ethylglyoximato-N,N') [(R)-6-hepten-2-yl]cobalt(III), [Co(C7H13)(C4H7N 2O2)(2)(C9H13N)], form one complete turn of a right-handed screw along the crystallographic c axis. The molecule shows a long C-Co bond [2.0 86(7) Angstrom] and a significant distortion in the hybridization of t he Co-bound C atom from sp(3) towards sp(2) [C28-C27-C29 = 120.9 (6), Co-C27-C29-C30 = -172(1) and C28-C27-C29-C30 = 41(2)degrees].
