The existence in the night of four strangling attempts clinicaly stere
otyped, at patient with a cerebral post-traumatic atrophy, associated
with an electric sleep comitiality (Holter EEG) founded at the crime h
our, allows the approach of the imputability of the crime to epilepsy.
The literature on epilepsy, sleep, associated psychiatric disorders a
nd criminology is discussed. A prospective study using a continuous EE
G recording during the psychiatric expertise of some clinical selectio
ned crimes is proposed.
