Abstract
The genus Asymmetricythere can be considered to be in lineal descent f rom the genus Togoina. Among the acquired characters Asymmetricythere shows a lateroventral fine ridge but the external outline is quite sim ilar. A semi-quantitative analysis of the distortion of the theoretica l ellipsoid allows the escape from subjective and literary description s. Combined with codification of the ornamental characters, this analy sis leads to a 3-D representation and a tomographic visualization.
