Abstract
The upper limit of local and global energy losses of alpha particles i nduced by TAE instability is evaluated. Both numerical results and a s imple analytical expression for the lost fraction are presented. It is shown that the increase of particle resonance velocities with radius minimizes the alpha losses, preventing the escape of alphas from the p lasma core.
