The oxo-diperoxo complex of molybdenum (VI), Mo(O)(O-2)(2)(HMPA) a, (H
2O) reacts with ClC6H4CH2NH2 to give the cis-dioxoperoxo complex Mo(O)
(2)(O-2)(ClC6H4CH2NH2)(2) b. The amorphous complex b has been fully ch
aracterized by elemental and thermogravimetric analyses, IR, Raman spe
ctroscopy, conductivity, EPR and NMR measurements, and XPS analyses. T
he results lead to the conclusion that the compound b is an octahedral
complex of molybdenum (VI) bearings two ore-oxygens, a side-on peroxo
ligand and two cis-amine ligands.
