Abstract
7 alpha-alkyloxy-cefalosporanate 1.1-dioxides were prepared starting f rom 7-ACA. The crucial step is the diazotation of the 7 beta-amino-cep hem 5 with i-amylnitrite, followed by rhodium catalyzed exchange react ion to the desired 7 alpha-alkoxy compounds.
