L. Boyer et al., LONG-TERM EFFECTS ON RENAL-FUNCTION OF SU CCESSFUL PERCUTANEOUS TRANSLUMINAL RENAL ANGIOPLASTY IN 140 HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS, Journal de radiologie, 74(12), 1993, pp. 609-613
Long term effects on creatinine serum level of successful percutaneous
transluminal renal angioplasty were retrospectively studied in 140 pa
tients. 3 groups were distinguished: the first one (80 patients) inclu
ded unilateral renal angioplasties, with normal controlateral kidney a
nd renal artery; the second group (35 patients) included bilateral ren
al angioplasties; the third group (25 patients) included solitary kidn
ey renal artery angioplasties. In each group, subgroups were defined w
ether creatinine serum level was upper or lower than 130 mu mol/l. Ren
al fonction was considered to be improved if serum creatinine was redu
ced by 20% or more, maintained if serum creatinine variations were bel
ow 20%, worsened if its increasement was upper than 20%.
