S. Dapoz et al., A FTIR CHARACTERIZATION OF A HEMOCOMPATIBLE MATERIAL OBTAINED BY SWIFT HEAVY-ION RADIATION GRAFTING, Journal de chimie physique et de physico-chimie biologique, 93(1), 1996, pp. 58-63
In order to prepare materials destined to be used as vascular prothesi
s, a radiation grafting of styrene, induced by swift heavy ions in pol
yvinylidene fluoride films, was performed. A substitution of the graft
ed polystyrene with sulfonate and aspartic acid sulfamide groups, whic
h confers to the polymer anticoagulant properties, was achieved. The m
aterial was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy a
t each step of the synthesis.
