Crystals of DyTa7O19 were obtained by a chemical transport reaction us
ing NH4Cl as the transport agent, The structure was refined in space g
roup P (6) over bar c2 and is built up from double layers of Ta2 polyh
edra, which may be described as edge-shared pentagonal bipyramids, alt
ernating with layers of [Ta3Dy3O30] rings.
