Abstract
7,10,19,22-Tetraoxa-4,13-diaza[16.8(4,13)] (9, 10)anthracenophane.2HCl O(4).C6H5CH3, C32H44N2O4.2HClO(4).C7H8, is a diprotonated form of a mo lecular receptor described previously and the homologue of A(22).2H(+) is also described. The present A(33).2H(+) compound crystallizes with one molecule of solvent (toluene) and the N+-H bonds are oriented out side the empty cavity towards the ClO4 anions. The single-crystal fluo rescence spectra of the free base (A(33)) and of the title compound ar e reported.
