CCPS INITIATIVE TO ASSIST SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN IMPROVING THEIR SAFETY PERFORMANCE

The Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) has been concerned with the difficulty that Small and Medium Enterprises (SME's) face in impro ving their safety performance and in coping with EPA and OSHA regulati ons. Over the past several years, efforts to reach out to SME's by tec hnical societies, trade associations and other groups have not been fu lly effective, and for the most part have not reached SME's. To meet t his challenge, CCPS has formed a committee to explore methods of effec tively reaching SME's and to develop programs to meet their needs.
