Abstract
Using the data set presented in Ortiz et al. (Icarus 117, 328-344, 199 5) we further analyze some of the most outstanding changes from 1991 t o 1993 in the saturnian atmosphere. For this purpose, limb-to-limb ref lectivity scans at planetographic latitudes 0 degrees, 10 degrees, 20 degrees, 40 degrees, and 70 degrees have been studied in terms of mult iple scattering radiative transfer models. The large changes in reflec tivity and methane absorption at equatorial latitudes from 1991 to 199 3 are attributed to a considerable increase in the aerosol abundance a t different levels within the extended tropospheric haze.
