Abstract
Experience with Mox use in Germany was gained for BWRs since 1966 and for PWRs since 1972. On this basis new Mox fuel assembly designs for a ll types of Pu composition can be established which are needed to fulf il the utility requirements for insertion together with U fuel assembl ies designed for increased burnup. They are to be used under existing licenses or to prepare their adjustment for improved economy, always m aintaining high levels of reliability and safety.
