Abstract
The relationship between boys' and girls' nonverbal ability and mathem atical achievement at the Norwegian elementary school level was studie d. Instruments used were The Matrix Analogies Test-Short Form, and a m athematical achievement test based on the Norwegian national school cu rriculum. More low ability girls than low ability boys had correspondi ng low mathematical scores. However, the gender difference in discrepa ncy between nonverbal ability and mathematical achievement was minor.
