Abstract
Some generalizations based on numerous crystal-structure analyses of 8 - to 16-residue peptides that form 3(10)- and/or alpha-helices are pre sented. New data include five decapeptides, each containing one non-st andard residue, dipropylglycine or dibutylglycine. Also presented is a new model for an ion transport channel based on the structures of thr ee zervamicin polymorphs.
